Sylvia Ferguson was appointed Vice-President and Chief Risk Officer in December 2024, responsible for Findev Canada’s enterprise risk management and transaction adjudication. Prior to joining FinDev Canada, Sylvia served as Vice-President and Chief Credit Officer at Export Development Canada where she was overseeing a global portfolio of loans, guarantees, insurance, and equity investments. Other positions held during her tenor at Export Development Canada included as Director, responsible for managing a team of corporate lending underwriters based in Canada and Singapore. Sylvia’s prior experience also includes working as an investment banker with BMO Capital Markets, where she spent part of her career located in Australia with a focus on cross-border transactions. 

Sylvia holds an Executive MBA from the University of Fredericton and a Bachelor of Commerce (honours) from Queen’s University.
