Brigid Shea
Brigid Shea joined FinDev Canada in September 2023 as Director of Public Policy and Partnerships to build and lead a dynamic team responsible for shaping and advancing the organization’s policy development function and engagement with key external stakeholders.
Brigid is a senior international development and government relations professional with over 20 years of political, strategic partnership and program management experience, in Canada, Latin America and the United Kingdom. Prior to joining FinDev Canada, Brigid managed a seven-year sustainable development and skills for employment program at Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), funded by Global Affairs Canada, working closely with the governments of Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. Before CICan, she worked at the McConnell Family Foundation as Director of Strategic Communications.
Previously, she worked abroad in governmental affairs in London, United Kingdom, where she worked for six years, first in a public relations firm and then at the UK’s first public, private, voluntary organization that provided employability, skills and rehabilitation services, working closely with the UK government and the Departments for Work and Pensions and Ministry of Justice, more specifically.
Brigid holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Hispanic Studies from McGill University and a Master of Science degree in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
